Xaman Founder Sounds Alarm Over Fake Token Scam Targeting XRP Holders

Xaman founder Wietse Wind has sounded the alarm for XRP holders after a fake token tied to the wallet was promoted on social media. The post, which used official branding and claimed that token claims would go live on the XRPL Network, was immediately labeled as a scam by Wind.

The account posting the content belonged to Arlington ISD, a verified account, suggesting scammers gained unauthorized access to it. This is not an isolated incident, as Wind has previously called out impersonators and the Xaman team actively reports suspicious accounts.

A pattern of fake tokens has emerged in the XRP community this year, with authorities apprehending a group that stole 3.4 million XRP from 71 victims in South Korea. Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz also issued a warning about a coordinated scam effort targeting XRPL users earlier this year.

Wind's advice to stay safe is to verify all information through official channels before taking any action, and not to interact with accounts promising free tokens or airdrops. He emphasizes that there will be no Xaman token.
