XRP Analyst Predicts $23 Target Based on 2016 Chart Pattern
Crypto analyst EGRAG Crypto has identified a striking similarity between XRP's current price action and its 2016 chart, setting a bold target of $23 for the digital asset. This projection represents roughly a 15x increase from XRP's October 5, 2026 price of $1.51. EGRAG's prediction is based on Fibonacci extensions, a technical analysis tool that projects future price movements using historical patterns.
However, the analyst warns that XRP's potential rally may not come without significant volatility. The 2016 pattern showed five consecutive months of declines before the token surged 284% in March 2017. If history repeats, XRP holders might need to endure further losses before any substantial gains materialize.
Reaching the $23 target would significantly impact XRP's market valuation. With a current market cap of $95 billion, XRP would climb to approximately $1.45 trillion at the projected price, nearing Bitcoin's current market size. EGRAG's analysis also considers key technical indicators, with XRP trading just below its 20-month and 50-week exponential moving averages, suggesting potential trend shifts ahead.
While the technical outlook appears compelling, EGRAG cautions that the current market context differs substantially from 2016. Factors such as the existence of U.S. spot XRP ETFs and the token's adoption by institutional players like Evernorth introduce new variables that could influence XRP's price trajectory. The upcoming October monthly close will be crucial, as a close above $1.55 could signal buyer control, while a close below might indicate continued downward pressure.
