XRP Approaches Technical Breakout with $2 Target in Sight
XRP is at a critical technical point, with analysts watching for a potential breakout that could push the token toward $2. The digital asset linked to Ripple Labs has been consolidating near $1.50 after recovering from its August low around $1. Crypto analyst Bird, known as @Bird_XRPL, highlights a rare convergence of technical signals on the daily chart, where multiple descending trend lines intersect near the current price. "Every possible trend line on XRP is saying the same thing: It's go time," Bird wrote on X. The analysis projects an upward move toward $2, with prior consolidation from late 2025 clustering in the $1.80 to $2 range.
A separate analysis by Ali Martinez (@ali_charts) identifies a compression pattern on the 4-hour chart, where XRP has been trading inside a descending triangle since around September 25. Martinez points to $1.53 as the decisive level, stating that a 4-hour close above this price could confirm a bullish breakout and open the door to $1.62. Large holders have remained relatively inactive, which is common during consolidation phases and can indicate a period of price discovery before conviction returns to the market.
The broader technical picture shows XRP has reclaimed both the 100-day and 200-day moving averages, now sitting around $1.25 and $1.28 respectively. Main resistance sits between $1.60 and $1.70, an area the asset has tested twice in recent weeks without breaking through. A daily close above $1.70 would open the door toward $2, with the next major resistance zone around $2.40.
Despite the technical setups, there is a notable divergence between XRP Ledger activity and XRP's price performance. The token is trading near $1.50, down roughly 49% from a year ago, even as Ripple reports that XRPL has moved more than $1 trillion in value between counterparties over its lifetime. The ledger has expanded beyond payments into tokenized assets, stablecoins, and institutional credit products. Stablecoin liquidity has grown substantially, with XRPL's stablecoin supply recently approaching $1.3 billion, and RLUSD accounting for roughly 93% of all stablecoin value on the ledger.
In the broader XRP ecosystem, shares of Armada Acquisition Corp. II surged approximately 273% last week ahead of its expected merger with Evernorth, a company focused on managing XRP reserves. The stock, traded under the ticker XRPN, closed at $39.42 on Friday after touching an intraday high of $53. Evernorth expects the merger to close on October 7, with the combined company set to begin trading on Nasdaq under the XRPN ticker starting October 8. Upon completion, Evernorth anticipates holding approximately 473 million XRP tokens, valued at roughly $714 million at Monday's price of about $1.51.
