XRP Burn Rate Surges Amid Rising Network Activity

Instruments

XRP's burn rate has increased on its ledger due to rising network activity. The number of transactions and payments have surged, resulting in a higher destruction of transaction fees.

According to XRPL data, there were approximately 2.1 million transactions, a 23.9% increase, while successful transactions rose by 15.7% to 1.6 million. Transactions per ledger increased by 24.6% to 103.33, and payments saw an even greater 31.5% increase to 708,100.

The burn rate is significant as a measure of underlying XRPL usage, but its impact on supply should not be overstated. With tens of billions of XRP tokens in circulation, burning hundreds or thousands of them has little direct effect on supply.

XRP's technical structure is weakening, with the asset currently trading at around $1.30 after a decline from the $1.40-$1.45 consolidation range. A breakdown below the long-term moving average around $1.35 was accompanied by increased selling volume.
