XRP Could Overtake Bitcoin in a Growing Digital Asset Market
Ripple's CTO Emeritus David Schwartz recently expressed his view that XRP could eventually surpass Bitcoin, saying 'it's probably more likely than not' for XRP to flip Bitcoin. However, this would only occur if XRP grows faster than Bitcoin and the overall digital asset market expands.
To reach a valuation of roughly $24.97, which is about 18 times XRP's current price and 6.5 times its January 2018 all-time high, XRP would need to grow significantly. This would require more than just a broad crypto rally, as the entire market would have to expand for both XRP and Bitcoin to rise together.
Schwartz emphasized that this scenario is not about Bitcoin losing value but rather about XRP gaining more value than Bitcoin. He also noted that the outcome is far from certain and that the case for XRP surpassing Bitcoin is still a long way off.
