XRP Defies Expectations as Escrow Release Fails to Spark Panic Selling
XRP's recent escrow release saw a surprisingly muted reaction from traders, who had long anticipated a sell-off.
The 1 billion tokens released on September 1, worth approximately $1.38Bn at the time, was re-escrowed by Ripple with only 100 million to 300 million available for operational use.
This reduced reaction can be attributed in part to XRP's strong performance in August, which saw a 28.5% climb and touched $1.70 before settling back.
The influx of $153.55M into spot ETFs approved in March 2026 also contributed to the market's stability, as did growing institutional participation in CME futures markets.
