XRP Dominance: How Market Capitalization Sets It Apart from Dogecoin
XRP and Dogecoin are two of the longest-running major cryptocurrencies in circulation. While both have their own distinct market positions, they serve fundamentally different purposes within the crypto ecosystem.
XRP has a larger market capitalization than Dogecoin, with a value of approximately $93.5 billion on September 28, compared to around $14.57 billion for Dogecoin, according to CoinMarketCap data. XRP's market capitalization is significantly higher due in part to its role as the native asset of the XRP Ledger, which supports payments, token issuance, and financial applications.
Dogecoin, on the other hand, has no fixed maximum supply and around five billion additional DOGE enter circulation annually through mining. Its primary use case is for peer-to-peer value transfers and it can be merge-mined with Litecoin to secure both networks simultaneously.
