XRP Escrow Unlock Looms: A Billion Tokens at Stake

The upcoming escrow unlock on October 1 has XRP investors on edge. With up to one billion tokens set to be released from escrow, worth around $1.52 billion at current prices, market participants are wondering how much of this supply will actually reach the market.

XRP is currently trading at $1.518, up 1.5 percent over the past 24 hours. The price has been testing the zone around $1.46 twice in recent days and has bounced back upward both times. However, the narrow range of roughly six percent suggests that both buyers and sellers are waiting for the same date.

The longer-term trend is more encouraging, with XRP having gained 48.1 percent in the third quarter, its strongest quarterly performance in four years. Nevertheless, the price remains below its all-time high.
