XRP ETF Demand Surges Amid Price Decline

The gap between institutional demand for XRP and its current price has never been wider. Despite spot XRP ETFs logging their strongest single-day intake in over seven months, $28.14 million on August 26, the cryptocurrency closed that session lower, highlighting a disconnect.

This figure capped seven consecutive days of net inflows, with a cumulative haul across the seven approved funds reaching roughly $1.57 billion by August 24 and total net assets pegged near $1.399 billion. The streak marked the products' best week since May, a sharp reversal from a period of tepid demand that had preceded it.

However, XRP's price tells a more complicated story. It was changing hands near $1.40 on August 26, down 4.4 percent on the week after touching an interim high of $1.66 on August 21. This peak followed a roughly 70 percent run from the cycle low struck on August 17.

The token still shows a gain of about 29 to 30 percent on a 30-day basis, while year-to-date it remains roughly 24 percent in the red. The whipsaw nature of the move underscores just how fragile recent momentum has been.
