XRP ETFs Reach 1 Billion Token Milestone Amid Growing Institutional Demand
US XRP exchange-traded funds have reached a significant milestone, holding more than 1 billion tokens for the first time. As of September 29, US spot XRP ETFs held approximately 1.13 billion XRP with a market value of around $1.68 billion, according to data from Maketo. This marks an increase from $1.44 billion a month earlier, representing a gain of about 16.6% in dollar terms.
The growth of XRP ETFs has accelerated since the first spot XRP products began trading in the United States, underscoring how quickly the token has carved out a distinct ETF niche. However, despite this progress, XRP funds remain a fraction of the size of Bitcoin and Ethereum fund markets.
Bitcoin ETFs in the US now hold around 1.29 million BTC worth approximately $108 billion, based on figures from Bitbo's ETF tracker. This represents more than 6% of Bitcoin's hard-capped supply of 21 million coins. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust alone accounts for over 800,000 BTC.
Despite the divergence in scale, XRP funds have occasionally outperformed their larger rivals in daily flow data, with net inflows recorded on some trading days while Bitcoin and Ethereum funds posted withdrawals.
