XRP Exchange Reserves Plummet by 240 Million Since Late Spring
XRP exchange reserves have been declining across major platforms since late spring, according to data from CryptoQuant. The token has seen a significant drop in reserves on Binance, Upbit, and Bithumb, with roughly 240 million XRP being pulled out of these exchanges over the past few weeks.
The combined holdings across these three exchanges have fallen to around 10.84 billion XRP, representing a 2.2% decline from where balances stood before the drawdown began. Binance experienced the sharpest pullback, with its reserves falling by 3.7%, bringing its holdings down to approximately 2.62 billion XRP.
Upbit remains the single largest holder of XRP, holding around 6.4 billion XRP, and combined with Bithumb, these two South Korean exchanges account for about 76% of all tracked reserves. The concentration of exchange-held XRP in this market is significant, as it can make supply signals more localized and susceptible to regional demand shifts.
The reduction in exchange balances may have implications for market liquidity, making prices potentially more sensitive to sudden demand spikes due to the tighter pool of tokens available for quick buying or selling. However, it's essential to consider that a decline in reserves doesn't necessarily confirm increased buying pressure or signal an impending price increase.
