XRP Futures Surge Amid Growing Ledger Activity
XRP futures have reached a six-month high as growth in the XRP Ledger outpaces the token's price. The increase is largely attributed to the growing use of the ledger for settlement infrastructure, which has attracted over $1.7 billion in cumulative net inflows since its launch in late-2025.
21Shares, an investment firm, has published a new case on XRP that highlights the token's regulatory clarity, institutional access, measurable utility, and fixed supply. The report notes that institutions can use the ledger while holding XRP only briefly, which may limit how much network growth reaches token holders.
The XRP Ledger has settled nearly $500 billion in on-chain value over the past year, with Ripple's USD (RLUSD) growing from $72 million to about $1.6 billion and tokenized real-world assets approaching $4 billion. The fixed supply of 100 billion tokens, all created at launch, continues to increase circulating supply over time.
The main risk, according to 21Shares, is that rising XRP Ledger use does not guarantee lasting demand for XRP itself. This gap is already part of the market debate, with some questioning how much network activity ultimately accrues to the token.
