XRP Golden Cross Imminent as Altcoin Rotation Intensifies
The cryptocurrency XRP is on the verge of forming a golden cross, a bullish signal that could indicate solid price gains in the long term. A golden cross occurs when an asset's 50-day moving average crosses above its 200-day average.
This pattern has been seen in many markets, including Bitcoin, which recently confirmed its own golden cross. However, history suggests caution for XRP, as none of its previous golden crosses have lasted more than a year before being terminated by a death cross.
Despite this, some of XRP's previous golden crosses did produce impressive short-term gains, with five out of 10 crosses resulting in gains ranging from 85% to over 1,000%. The current situation is similar to the one that preceded XRP's last golden cross in August 2024.
As Bitcoin's dominance rate drops to a one-month low of under 59%, traders are shifting their focus towards alternative coins. This rotation has led to sharp gains for some altcoins, with UNI, NEAR, and ARB surging by nearly 30% in 24 hours.
