XRP Golden Cross Sparks Debate Amid Uncertain Timing
XRP has formed a golden cross on its Bitcoin chart, but timing remains uncertain for now. The short-term MA 50 on the 4-hour chart has crossed above the longer-term MA 200, which is often seen as a bullish signal.
This development coincided with a six-candle drop in XRP/BTC's 4-hour chart, leaving bulls surprised by the sudden downturn. However, this doesn't negate XRP's short-term outperformance against Bitcoin, which has been steadily rising since September 16, surpassing major moving averages on both the 4-hour and daily charts.
XRP reached a high of $1.65 on September 25, marking its first 2026 daily golden cross on its USD chart. The surge coincided with strong high-value activity, with 1,917 whale transactions worth $100,000 recorded over the month, as well as network growth spiking to 3,647 new XRP wallets.
Despite currently being down 1.19% in the last 24 hours to $1.55 after reaching a high of $1.62 on Friday, there are still signals suggesting that XRP may have room to run. The URPD indicator shows relatively little resistance ahead until $1.60, where roughly 2.50 billion XRP previously changed hands, highlighting potential profit-taking near this level before the next major move.
