XRP Holders Still Down 12%, But Bitcoin ETF Investments Suggest a Shift
The average XRP holder over the past year is down about 12%, according to analytics firm Santiment. This is in contrast to Bitcoin holders, who are slightly in profit.
XRP's price dropped by around 17% in 2026 and roughly 48% over the past year. Meanwhile, Bitcoin has only fallen about 3% this year.
Bitcoin's recent surge in spot ETF investments, attracting $1.7 billion on September 21 and 22, suggests ongoing institutional buying support. In contrast, XRP still has significant room to grow, trading 36% below its January 6, 2026 peak of $2.36.
Based on current data, Bitcoin seems more likely to rally next. Its holders are nearing break-even, and the strong interest in spot ETFs suggests ongoing institutional buying support.
