XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 Activation Nears, Pending Validator Support
The XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 upgrade is nearing activation, pending the maintenance of at least 80% support through September 29. The feature allows up to eight transactions to be grouped together for settlement or failure as one operation. This can simplify settlement processes for funds, trading venues, and token issuers.
Ripple says asset managers are preparing for the upgrade, which enables delivery-versus-payment, linking asset transfers with payment. RippleX engineering head Ayo Akinyele stated that commercial projects already account for XRP Ledger Batch V1.1.
The XRPL Dashboard lists support from 30 of 35 tracked validators, needing 28 votes to start the countdown process. Activation could follow September 29 if support stays above 80% throughout the window.
