XRP Ledger Beats HBAR Network in Cheapest Payment Fees

Hedera's HBAR and XRP Ledger networks have different fee structures that affect how much it costs to send payments on each network.

A payment between two funded accounts on Hedera costs $0.0001, while the same transaction on the XRP Ledger costs about $0.000015 at the 28 September 2026 close, making XRP Ledger cheaper by a factor of 6.68.

Hedera charges its fees in dollars and converts them to HBAR at the live exchange rate, whereas the XRP Ledger charges a fixed fee of 10 drops of XRP, which is equivalent to about $0.000015 at the close.

However, if we scale up to 100,000 payments between funded accounts, Hedera would charge $10.00, while the same run on the XRP Ledger would cost 1,000,000 drops, or approximately $1.50 at the 28 September close.
