XRP Ledger Burn Rate Surges 848%, But Is It Organic Growth?
XRP Ledger's burn rate has seen an unprecedented surge of 848% due to increased network activity. The price of XRP remains above $1.50, with a current value of $1.51, despite some pullback from its recent high of $1.66.
The uptick in burn rates is largely attributed to the rise in transaction numbers on the ledger, which reached 2.9 million, a 276.6% increase compared to recent averages. Successful transactions climbed to 1.9 million, marking a 172.6% jump.
However, industry analysts have cautioned that increased spam or bot-driven activity may be inflating network statistics rather than reflecting genuine economic growth. The number of active users dropped by 69.5%, while new accounts surged by 831.5%. Transactions per ledger decreased by 25.7% to 142.43.
The XRP Ledger's ability to manage the increased load without disruption is evident, with the average ledger interval remaining stable at 3.89 seconds. Technical analysts have emphasized that a higher burn rate may benefit long-term supply dynamics, but its real impact hinges on the quality of activity behind those burns.
