XRP Ledger Crosses $3 Billion in Tokenized Assets After 59% Surge
The XRP Ledger has reached a significant milestone, crossing $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets (RWA) on May 3, 2026. This represents a 59% increase in just 30 days and marks a major shift in the adoption of the Ripple ledger for institutional-grade assets.
The growth is largely driven by a small group of named institutional actors, including the Dubai Land Department's government-backed property tokenization program and Archax, the UK Financial Conduct Authority-regulated digital securities exchange. Archax has committed to issuing $1 billion worth of tokenized securities on the XRP Ledger by mid-2026.
The Permissioned Domains amendment, activated in April 2026, has also played a key role in driving adoption. This protocol upgrade enables issuers to create KYC-gated token environments directly on the public mainnet, removing a major technical argument for private-chain deployment.
While the XRP Ledger still represents only around 10% of the total cross-chain RWA market, which stands at $30 billion, experts believe that this growth will serve as a benchmark for firms evaluating whether to deploy RWA tokenization programs on public versus private infrastructure.
