XRP Ledger Delegation Upgrade Enters Activation Countdown

XRP Ledger's proposed delegation upgrade is one step closer to activation after entering a 14-day countdown period.

The update, called PermissionDelegationV1_1, has already gained the support of 29 out of 35 validators and will activate on October 5 at 11:18 UTC if this support stays above the required 80% threshold.

This upgrade allows an XRP Ledger account to delegate specific payment and compliance duties to another account without sharing full control, mirroring how financial institutions separate these tasks.

The new version replaces a previous proposal that contained a security flaw related to unauthorized transaction fee charges, which has now been fixed in the xrpld 3.3.0 update.
