The XRP Ledger Foundation has released xrpld version 3.4.0, introducing key upgrades to the protocol and node fixes. The update adds Lending Protocol V1.1 with closed-ended vaults and cash-basis accounting for new lending rules.

The new lending amendment does not activate automatically when an operator installs xrpld 3.4.0. Instead, it requires more than 80% support from trusted validators for two continuous weeks. As of September 17, 16 out of 35 trusted validators supported SingleAssetVault and 13 supported LendingProtocol.

XRPL 3.4.0 also includes protocol fixes covering vaults, automated market makers, Multi-Purpose Tokens, escrow, credentials, and permissioned trading. The release changes transaction signing, uses separate signing hash prefixes for counterparty and sponsor signatures, and strengthens MPT balance checks.
