XRP Ledger Inches Closer to Mainnet Activation of Permission Delegation V1_1

XRP Ledger (XRL), a decentralized public blockchain, is on track to implement its mainnet the Permission Delegation V1_1 function. This feature allows account holders to delegate specific permissions to other accounts without giving them full control.

The implementation of this function has been in progress since September 21st, when it was supported by 29 out of 35 trusted validators, putting it on a temporary 14-day countdown to activation. As of September 24th, the support rate for Permission Delegation V1_1 stands at 80%, which is short of the required 80%+2 week threshold.

The function itself was first implemented in XRPL's server software xrpld version 3.3.0 on August 6th, as a fix to a major bug found in the previous PermissionDelegation feature. However, its activation on the mainnet is a separate process that requires sustained support from at least 80% of trusted validators for two weeks.

This development aims to enhance the functionality and usability of XRP Ledger, allowing users to manage their accounts with greater flexibility and security.
