XRP Ledger Prepares for Major Upgrades to Boost Corporate Adoption
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is gearing up for major upgrades that will make it more attractive to large financial institutions. Two key amendments, Batch and Permission Delegation, are nearing activation on mainnet after receiving validator support of 85-94% and 82%, respectively.
The upgrades aim to address barriers preventing corporate adoption by allowing the automation of payments and complex transactions. The XLS-56 feature eliminates the risk of funds becoming stuck in commercial settlements, while XLS-75 enables flexible distribution of operational roles, meeting banking security requirements.
Validators are also gathering votes for the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment to stabilize AMM pools in the recent xrpld v3.4.0 software release. Meanwhile, Nik Bougalis, a key cryptographer and Ripple pioneer, has returned to work on XRPL core and proposed an overhaul of its low-level architecture.
