XRP Ledger Proposes Native Lending Capabilities
The XRP Ledger is one step closer to introducing native lending capabilities with the proposal of three amendments: XLS-65, XLS-66, and LendingProtocolV1_1.
These tools will enable Single Asset Vaults for XRP, RLUSD, and other supported tokens, allowing depositors to receive shares based on their contributions.
Loan brokers can then use those pooled assets to arrange fixed-term loans under XLS-66. LendingProtocolV1_1 introduces vaults with defined deposit, lending, and withdrawal periods, as well as interest recognition when borrowers make payments.
The system leaves borrower screening and lending decisions to participating firms, while allowing brokers to arrange loans using the pooled assets.
