XRP Ledger Sees 386% Surge in Payment Volume
The XRP Ledger has seen a dramatic rebound in payment volume, surging by 386% in the latest 24-hour period. This increase brings the daily payment volume to approximately 583.3 million XRP, indicating a rapid recovery from a notably weak previous reading. Although this figure is slightly below the 30-day average of 638 million XRP, the surge is significant given that it rebounded from an unusually low base.
Historical data shows that the XRP Ledger has frequently recorded daily payment volumes exceeding one billion XRP, with some spikes reaching above two billion. The all-time high stands near seven billion XRP. While the current 583 million XRP figure is not exceptional historically, the speed of the rebound is noteworthy. The next key question is whether this recovery can be sustained, with volumes consistently staying above the 30-day average to signal a genuine acceleration in transactional activity.
Meanwhile, the price of XRP remains relatively stable at around $1.51. The asset has been consolidating since September's breakout, when it rose from approximately $1.30 to $1.60. Recent price action has formed a narrow range between $1.48 and $1.53, despite several unsuccessful attempts to resume the rally. Technically, XRP is performing well, trading above its short-term moving average of $1.45 and comfortably above longer-term averages around $1.35, $1.40. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates a neutral-to-bullish market, not signaling an overheated condition.
For XRP to continue its upward momentum, it needs to reclaim the $1.55 level before challenging the major resistance region of $1.60, $1.65. Conversely, dropping below $1.45 would significantly weaken the current setup. The 386% increase in payment volume provides a positive on-chain signal, but sustained volumes above the 30-day average are necessary to confirm a genuine acceleration in activity.
