$XRP Ledger Sees 400% Rise in New Accounts Amid Price Volatility
The XRP Ledger has seen an unexpected surge in new account creation, with over 11,432 accounts activated in September. This is more than four times higher than the average of around 2,700 new accounts per month.
The data from XRPScan shows that this spike was not a one-off event, but rather part of a larger trend. The 24-hour increase in new account creation was 245.1%, and the absolute figure is about 323% higher than the 30-day baseline.
It's unclear what caused this sudden surge in new accounts, but it could be related to exchange infrastructure, wallet migrations, or applications onboarding users. The data alone cannot determine the cause of the increase without identifying the entities responsible for the activations.
The recent price action of $XRP may also be relevant. After breaking above a declining resistance line, the price pulled back towards $1.46 before sellers forced it back down. However, the larger recovery structure remains intact as long as $XRP stays above the cluster around $1.39-$1.40.
