XRP Ledger Sees Major Security Upgrade with fixCleanup3_2_0 Activation

The XRP Ledger has undergone a significant upgrade, dubbed 'fixCleanup3_2_0', which marks a major security milestone for the network. The upgrade was activated on July 28 with 85.71% validator support (30 of 35) on mainnet. This move is a result of Ripple's ongoing efforts to strengthen the XRP Ledger's security, including the formation of an AI-assisted red team in March.

The fixCleanup3_2_0 upgrade includes important fixes for several areas, including Single Asset Vaults, the Lending Protocol, the permissioned DEX, multi-purpose tokens, and permissioned domains. The update also introduces new invariant checks to ensure a cleaner ledger state. XRPL 3.2.0 is now the new minimum version required for mainnet.

Ripple's security efforts have led to several notable releases in recent months, including the XRPL 3.1.3 release and the XRPL 3.2.0 cleanup and maintenance release. The fixCleanup3_2_0 upgrade comes with an advisory for node validators, as nodes running version 3.1.0 and below may be amendment-blocked until they upgrade to 3.2.0.

Upbit, the largest XRP-holding exchange, has announced support for RLUSD deposits and withdrawals on the XRP Ledger, with trading pairs available in KRW, BTC, and USDT.
