XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Transaction Value Amid Institutional Adoption
The XRP Ledger's (XRPL) transaction value has seen significant growth in recent times, with approximately $159.9 billion settled during the first half of 2026, according to 21Shares.
This has led to speculation that network activity is becoming more institutionally oriented, although transaction value alone cannot prove institutional adoption.
One key indicator of this shift is the growth of stablecoins on the XRPL. Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has expanded rapidly, reaching approximately $1.56 billion in total supply by the end of H1 2026, with 52% held on XRP Ledger.
This increase represents a 1131% year-over-year growth, according to 21Shares, and provides the network with a dollar-denominated settlement asset that could support institutional financial activity.
