XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Transaction Value Amid Institutional Growth
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) is showing significant transaction value while expanding its infrastructure to support stablecoins and tokenized financial assets, indicating a shift towards more institutional activity.
In the first half of 2026, XRPL settled approximately USD 159.9 billion in transactions, according to 21Shares. However, network-related revenue declined by 81.6% year-on-year from USD 6.43 million to USD 1.18 million.
The growth of stablecoins on the XRP Ledger is particularly noteworthy, with Ripple's RLUSD reaching approximately USD 1.56 billion in total supply by the end of H1 2026, with 52% held on XRPL. Its presence increased by 1,131% year-on-year.
Ripple has continued to expand its stablecoin offerings, reporting approximately USD 2.396 billion of circulating RLUSD backed by USD 2.518 billion of reserve assets as of September 3.
