XRP Ledger Sees Surge in Wallet Registrations Ahead of Batch V1.1 Upgrade
The XRP Ledger is getting ready to roll out its Batch V1.1 amendment on September 29, and it's not just a routine update. The network has seen a significant surge in wallet registrations, with 11,432 new accounts opened in a single day - a 323% jump over the 30-day average of 2,700 registrations.
The catalyst behind this spike is unclear, but it could be due to genuine user growth, internal reshuffling at trading platforms, or new applications plugging into the chain. Whatever the driver, the blockchain is busier than ever.
Thirty out of 35 validators have thrown their weight behind the BatchV1_1 amendment, clearing the required 80% threshold to move forward.
The upgrade will allow up to eight transactions to be bundled into a single, atomic operation - either all steps execute together or the whole package is discarded. This could make it easier for developers and institutional players to handle multi-stage processes and implement more sophisticated settlement models in securities and payments.
