XRP Ledger Smashes Transaction Record Amid Upcoming Protocol Changes

The XRP Ledger has set a new record for the largest number of transactions processed in a single ledger, reaching 3,254. This milestone comes as the network prepares to implement several upgrades from xrpld version 3.3.0.

The transactions mainly consisted of simple one-drop XRP payments, which are less resource-intensive than more complex operations. Vet, an XRPL validator, suggested that this activity may be related to throughput testing rather than normal user activity.

The XRP Ledger's adaptive transaction target allows the network to adjust its processing capacity based on performance conditions. This means that the record does not necessarily indicate a permanent increase in the network's processing limit.
