XRP Ledger Surges Ahead with $2.2 Billion in Tokenized Commodity Growth
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has emerged as a leader in the tokenized commodity market, adding $2.2 billion in market capitalization in 2026. This growth surpasses Ethereum, which saw a $1.6 billion increase, making the two networks responsible for roughly 90% of the commodity market-cap growth across the chains tracked by the RWA Foundation and Token Terminal.
While XRPL led in market capitalization, it did not rank among the top 10 networks for commodity holder-address growth. BNB Chain topped this metric with 90,800 additional holder addresses, followed by Celo and Ethereum. Other networks like Avalanche, BNB Chain, and Base also saw significant but smaller increases in commodity market capitalization.
Beyond commodities, XRPL ranked third in overall growth for real-world assets, excluding stablecoins, with a total increase of $2.4 billion. It also added $182.1 million in tokenized fund market capitalization and $949.5 million in stablecoin market capitalization, placing it fifth in that sector’s growth rankings.
The report highlights that sector leadership varied across different asset classes. For example, Tron led stablecoins with a $12.7 billion increase, Stellar topped tokenized funds, and BNB Chain led tokenized stocks. The data underscores the diverse performance of various blockchain networks in the growing market for tokenized real-world assets.
