XRP Ledger Surpasses 10 Million x402 Payments
The XRP Ledger has surpassed 10 million x402 payments, marking a significant milestone in its growth. According to J. Ayo Akinyele, head of RippleX, the network now averages about 500,000 x402 payments daily.
The rapid growth can be attributed to AI agents, which remain a major driver of automated payment activity on the XRP Ledger. These agents use the x402 protocol to pay for online services without accounts or manual approval.
Ripple's adoption of x402 through its implementation by t54 has also contributed to the growth. The protocol supports payments using XRP and RLUSD, with settlement typically finishing within seconds.
