XRP Ledger Updates Aim to Bolster Tokenized Assets and Business Usage
Ripple has announced five proposed amendments to the XRP Ledger aimed at improving privacy, payments, token management, and settlement. The changes are part of the upcoming xrpld 3.3.0 release and require validator approval before going live.
The first amendment is called Confidential MPT, which uses zero-knowledge proofs and elliptic-curve encryption to give Multi-Purpose Tokens a privacy feature. Approved parties can still access transaction details when needed.
Another amendment is Batch, which allows up to eight transactions from different accounts to be processed together in one ledger. Each transaction must succeed before the batch is completed, supporting delivery-versus-payment and atomic settlement.
Permission Delegation lets institutions give limited transaction rights without giving away full control of their signing keys. For example, treasury teams can keep custody of important keys while allowing other teams to perform approved tasks.
