XRP Ledger Upgrade Gains Traction Ahead of October 5 Activation

The XRP Ledger is set to receive an upgrade in the coming days after 29 of its 35 trusted validators supported the change. The upgrade, known as PermissionDelegationV1_1, will allow users to delegate specific permissions to another account without giving them full control rights.

This feature is designed for institutional use cases and will provide businesses with a way to segregate day-to-day activities from account management. For example, an enterprise can allow payment processing but restrict alteration of critical security parameters to another account.

The upgrade has entered a 14-day activation period, which began on September 21. If the support remains above the threshold, it is expected to activate on October 5.
