XRP Ledger Upgrade Sets Stage for Major Network Overhaul
XRP Ledger developers have released version v3.3.0, a major update that introduces significant changes to the network's functionality.
The main feature of this release is the Confidential Transfer amendment, which fully encrypts balances and transfers of Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPTs), providing increased privacy for users.
This update also includes several other key amendments: Batch, Permission Delegation, Sponsor, Dynamic MPT, and FixCleanup. The Batch amendment allows up to eight transactions to be combined into a single package that is executed atomically, while the Permission Delegation feature enables funds to keep their main assets in cold storage while delegating authority to operational wallets.
The update aims to improve the network's infrastructure, reducing node RAM consumption by at least 10-15% and improving node synchronization. If consensus is reached among validators, the amendments will take effect, marking one of the largest technological transitions in XRP Ledger's history.
