XRP Ledger Upgrade Targets October 9 for Batch Execution Feature
The XRP Ledger is set to undergo an upgrade on October 9, which will enable users to bundle up to eight transactions in one submission. This change, known as BatchV1_1, is part of a larger update that includes a security amendment to fix a flaw in how grouped actions are checked.
The new system, which implements the standard for grouped execution (XLS-56), will allow users to link asset delivery with payment and make both transfers conditional on success. If either step fails, neither transfer will take effect.
Validators have already shown support for the upgrade, with 30 of 35 trusted validators backing BatchV1_1 as of October 3, equivalent to 85.71%.
The activation requires validator support above 80% for two consecutive weeks. If support remains above the required threshold, the upgrade could activate on October 9 at approximately 10:46 a.m. EDT.
