XRP Ledger Upgrade Targets October 9 with Bundled Transaction Support
The XRP Ledger is gearing up for a significant upgrade on October 9, which will allow users to bundle up to eight transactions in a single submission. This upgrade, dubbed BatchV1_1, is part of a larger effort to improve the efficiency and security of the network. According to the latest validator support and activation countdown dashboard, 30 out of 35 trusted validators are backing the upgrade, with a support rate of 85.71% as of October 3.
The new Batch execution mode will enable users to package multiple transactions, including payments and asset transfers, into a single operation. This will reduce the risk of only part of a trade completing, as all transactions will be executed together or none at all. The upgrade will also include an all-or-nothing execution rule, which will link asset delivery with payment.
Uphold, a digital asset platform, has confirmed that more than 85% of validators are backing the Batch upgrade, which could activate on October 9 if support remains above the required threshold. The upgrade is seen as a significant step forward for the XRP Ledger, with the potential to increase transaction efficiency and reduce costs.
Separately, the XRP Ledger has released server software version 3.4.1 to address security-sensitive issues, including a fix for a security flaw in the grouped actions checking process. If the security amendment activates, servers running older software will become unable to stay synchronized with the network.
