XRP Ledger Upgrades Scheduled for High-Profile Deployment Window
The XRP Ledger network is gearing up for three significant upgrades within the next 48 hours. Starting on October 8 at approximately 21:25 UTC, the PermissionDelegationV1_1 amendment will introduce a granular account authorization framework, enabling primary addresses to grant specific permissions to secondary accounts without compromising or transferring their master private keys.
This upgrade is expected to benefit institutional participants, such as banks and stablecoin issuers, by allowing them to segregate compliance, payment, and custody responsibilities across separate wallets.
The second deployment phase focuses on batch processing, with the BatchV1_1 amendment enabling the grouped execution of up to eight transactions in a single batch with atomic guarantees. This feature has drawn strong interest from developers building settlement engines and atomic swap solutions.
In addition to these upgrades, a critical security fix is being implemented through the xrpld 3.4.1 client version, which includes the fixBatchV1_2 patch. Infrastructure operators running obsolete software builds at the time of deployment will enter an amendment blocked state until they complete the software migration.
The XRPL technical governance model requires maintaining validator support above 80% for two continuous weeks to apply amendments to the mainnet. If this threshold holds through the close of the target window on October 9 at 14:46 UTC, all three implementations will become permanently active at the base layer.
