XRP Ledger Upgrades Set to Launch Within 48 Hours
Three key upgrades to the XRP Ledger network are scheduled for activation within the next 48 hours, bringing significant improvements to its functionality. The PermissionDelegationV1_1 amendment will introduce a granular account authorization framework, allowing primary addresses to grant specific permissions to secondary accounts without compromising their master private keys.
This feature is expected to benefit institutional participants, such as banks and stablecoin issuers, by enabling them to segregate compliance, payment, and custody responsibilities across separate wallets. The BatchV1_1 amendment will also enable the grouped execution of up to eight transactions in a single batch with atomic guarantees.
The XRPL engineering team has released an emergency security update, xrpld 3.4.1, to prevent out-of-date nodes from becoming amendment blocked. If validators sustain the consensus threshold required by the protocol, all three implementations will become permanently active at the base layer on October 9 at 14:46 UTC.
The deployment of these upgrades marks a significant technical deployment window for the ecosystem, with industry analysts noting that this functionality will enable banks and stablecoin issuers to segregate compliance, payment, and custody responsibilities across separate wallets.
