XRP Ledger Validators Vote on Major Lending Upgrade
The XRP Ledger has taken a significant step towards launching its native lending infrastructure. RippleX announced on Sept. 30 that validators can now evaluate and vote on LendingProtocolV1_1, a major upgrade to the XRPL lending architecture.
The new amendment introduces two key changes: closed-ended lending vaults and cash-basis accounting. The upgrade also extends other proposed pieces of XRPL infrastructure, such as LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault.
LendingProtocolV1_1 must activate alongside the original LendingProtocol and SingleAssetVault amendments. This means that all three amendments are required for operational lending to occur.
