XRP Ledger's Batch V1.1 Update Activates Soon, Combining Assets and Payments
The XRP Ledger is set to undergo an important update with the activation of Batch V1.1, which combines asset and payment transfers into a single group. This feature allows for up to eight transactions to be processed together, operating on an 'all or nothing' model where the entire group is canceled if any transaction fails.
Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX, stated that asset managers and commercial projects are preparing to use this feature. The update was redesigned following a critical signature verification vulnerability discovered in Batch V1.0 earlier this year, which could have allowed attackers to add unauthorized transactions to a group.
The 14-day activation process began on September 15, and as of now, 30 out of 35 validators are supporting the update. If support remains above 80 percent throughout the countdown, Batch V1.1 is expected to activate on September 29.
