XRP Ledger's Permission Delegation Activation Delayed
The XRP Ledger is set to introduce a new feature called PermissionDelegationV1_1, which will allow accounts to grant individual rights to other accounts without transferring their master key. This amendment has been proposed and voted on by the network's validators, with 29 out of 35 trusted validators currently supporting it.
The change is expected to take effect on October 8, not October 5 as previously reported by some trade outlets. The ledger itself carries the necessary majority since September 24, which pushes the earliest date out to October 8.
For holders of XRP, this means that trading venues and custodians may suspend deposits and withdrawals around protocol updates, making it essential to schedule transfers with caution.
