XRP Nears Critical Breakout Point Between $1.45 and $1.55
XRP has been trading within a tight range between $1.45 and $1.55 over the past few sessions, making the next breakout potentially significant. The token is currently around $1.52, with buyers supporting the $1.45 level and sellers emerging near $1.52 to $1.55. This narrow trading band suggests that XRP is in one of its clearest short-term decision zones in months.
The market's derivatives positioning remains relatively restrained, indicating that traders are not heavily leveraged in either direction. XRP is trading near a descending trendline around $1.52 to $1.53, with key support at $1.45. The token has also stayed above its 20-day, 50-day, and 100-day exponential moving averages, preserving the broader recovery structure.
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez is watching for an hourly close above $1.54 to confirm a breakout. He believes XRP is forming a symmetrical triangle and that a confirmed breakout could lead to a roughly 10% advance toward $1.70. The $1.54 to $1.55 level is thus more than just ordinary resistance; it is a critical point where a stagnant range could turn into a momentum trade.
If XRP clears $1.55, momentum traders may enter, open interest could expand, and short sellers might be forced to cover. Conversely, a drop below $1.45 could trigger leveraged longs to exit. Binance XRP open interest stands at 516.6 million, up from earlier lows but still well below the levels seen in October 2023. The current market is described as 'less leveraged, more cautious' than a year earlier, leaving room for traders to react once price movement begins.
CrediBULL Crypto has offered an aggressive bullish outlook, suggesting XRP could experience one of the greatest runs of the current cycle. However, even if XRP breaks above $1.54 to $1.55, previous selling pressure around $1.65 to $1.70 could slow the momentum. On the downside, a break below $1.45 would turn the recent consolidation into a failed recovery, with the 50-day EMA around $1.38 becoming the next key support level.
