XRP Open Interest Rebounds Amid Persistent Selling Pressure

XRP's open interest has rebounded from its late-August contraction, according to an analysis by Cryptoquant. The seven-day change in XRP's open interest moved from a negative 27% on August 29 to a positive 1% on September 6.

This shift was described as a move away from the deleveraging phase that occurred in late August. Binance's open interest in XRP sat at around $244 million, while perpetual cumulative volume delta (CVD) fell to approximately negative $897.1 million.

A declining CVD indicates that taker-initiated sell orders have exceeded aggressive buying during the measured period. Despite this, XRP traded around $1.42.

The analysis noted that the combination of higher open interest and persistently negative perpetual CVD suggests bearish taker-side positioning remains active and traders continue to add exposure consistent with expectations of lower prices.
