XRP Options Go Live in US Markets
Canada has once again taken the lead in regulatory innovation by allowing US investors to trade options on XRP-ETFs. This move follows a similar step by Canadian banks, which have begun cautiously adding XRP exposure to their portfolios.
The key driver behind this new development is the Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC), which has confirmed the registration of options on the Evolve XRP ETF and Purpose XRP ETF for sale in the US under Form S-20. This move comes after a notice was published in the U.S. Federal Register, classifying XRP as a qualifying digital commodity.
Canadian banks have traditionally been cautious about investing in cryptocurrencies, but they have begun to adopt XRP through regulated exchange-traded contracts. National Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal (BMO) have both reported investments in XRP products, albeit in small amounts.
