XRP Plunges Nearly 73% from Record High, Fuels Debate Over Future
XRP has fallen nearly 73% from its record high in July 2025, leading to both bearish and bullish predictions about the future of the asset. The cryptocurrency dropped as low as $0.9916 on August 12, briefly slipping below $1 for the first time since 2024.
Cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez notes that XRP has entered a deeply oversold area after a year-long correction and is now showing new technical buy signals. Specifically, the Tom DeMark Sequential indicator has signaled a buy on the monthly chart, which has predicted major turning points for XRP in the past.
Other analysts have different views, however. Chartnerd believes that an uptrend support line that has held for 6 years remains intact and that the current correction is pulling XRP into a historically important reversal zone. He also suggests that a third retest of the $0.70 to $0.90 range may occur.
Crypto Rover, on the other hand, views the drop below $1 as negative, while Moon Lambo argues that XRP has endured even more severe corrections in the past and is likely forming a bottom.
