XRP Price Dips After Brazil Partnership Announcement
The integration of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) into Brazil's financial system has sparked a mixed reaction from the market. According to Flare founder Hugo Philion, it doesn't make sense that XRP's price fell after the announcement that $15 billion in represented market value will be brought onto XRPL by 2026.
The first phase of the Brazilian project aims to bring BTG Pactual fund shares onto the XRPL, with a target issuance date before the end of 2026. This initiative marks the first time the XRPL has been added to financial infrastructure of this scale, and it's expected to increase financial activity on the XRPL.
Ripple executive Luke Judges noted that the $15 billion figure represents financial assets being digitally represented on the blockchain, not new money entering the network.
