XRP Price Drops Despite Brazil Deal as Market Reacts with 'Lunacy'
XRP's price dropped after news that CSD BR, one of Brazil's core securities depositories, would bring assets onto the XRP Ledger. This is seen as a potentially transformative move, according to Ripple's Luke Judges.
Flare co-founder Hugo Philion called the market reaction 'lunacy', saying it doesn't make sense that XRP dropped in value after such positive news. He also noted that Flare's FLR token sometimes gets a similar lackluster response.
The Brazil deal involves integrating the XRP Ledger into financial market infrastructure on a large scale, with CSD BR holding over BRL 22 trillion in registered assets. The program starts with BTG Pactual fund shares and aims to bring parts of Brazil's fixed-income market onto the XRPL.
