XRP Price Needs Sudden and Explosive Rally to Reach $3 by Q4
XRP investors who bought at its July peak of $3.65 have seen their holdings drop by over 70% to around $1.02, a loss that would need to be reversed with a 194% gain just to reach the $3 level.
The cryptocurrency's price has been on a downward trend since its cycle high in July 2025, despite some small gains along the way. In August 2025, XRP posted an 8.15% loss after traders took profits from the coin's rally. The following month, it tried to stabilize with a 2% gain but was soon wiped out by the crypto crash on October 10, which saw over $19 billion in leveraged positions lost.
XRP fell from $2.84 to $1.84 between October and December 2025, marking a 35% decline over that period. Despite the launch of an XRP ETF that pulled in $1.17 billion between November and December 2025, XRP traded in negative territory entering 2026.
For XRP's price to reach $3, its market cap would need to grow from $63.9 billion to around $188 billion, a move that is not unprecedented for the cryptocurrency. However, this growth will depend on two key factors: the passage of the CLARITY Act and the recovery of monthly XRP ETF inflows.
